International tournament “World Championships on Tatar National Wrestling Koresh”  \\  13-4-2010
We would like to inform you that despite the inappropriate behavior of the organizers (Mr.R.Akhmetkhanov) of international tournament “World Championships on Tatar National Wrestling Koresh” on the occasion of 90-years anniversary of formation of the Tatar Republic TASSR, the IBWA board of directors decided to support governmental initiative of Republic of Tatarstan to develop traditional wrestling “Koresh” and to permit national federations, IBWA members, to take part in this event. The national wrestling “Tatarcha Koresh” or “Tatar-Baskir wrestling” or national wrestling “Koresh” is not included in the list of recognized sports in Russian Federation by Ministry of sports and is therefore not an official sport discipline. Also, such variety of the name’s formulation for Tatar national wrestling, confuse readers. National federations which want to take part in the international tournament can send on costs of the organizers only sport clubs representative, but not the national belt wrestling teams. IBWA is not responsible for sport clubs representative’s participation in this event. IBWA recommends confirming participation in this event only after receiving guarantees from organizers to cover expenses. We hope that the organizers will understand that the real professional developing of Tatar national wrestling will only be possible through active cooperation with the Russian belt wrestling federation in Russia and the cooperation with IBWA and IATWS on international level. Through this partnership the participation in the 27th Summer Universiade in Kazan 2013 and the becoming part of Olympic Games program can turn to reality. Mark Lieberman, SVP/Acting President |
